Common questions
What are the salary tax slabs for 2026-27 in Pakistan?
For Tax Year 2027 the first Rs. 600,000 of annual taxable salary is exempt. Above that the rate rises through 1%, 11%, 20%, 25%, 29% and 32% before reaching 35% on income over Rs. 7 million. The 20%, 25%, 29% and 32% bands are the four rates reduced by the Finance Act 2026.
Has the 9% surcharge on high salaries been removed?
Yes. The section 4AB surcharge of 9% on salaried individuals with taxable income above Rs. 10 million was withdrawn with effect from Tax Year 2027. It still applies to non-salaried individuals and associations of persons, which is why the Business & AOP calculator continues to include it.
Does this calculator show monthly tax deduction?
Yes. The annual liability is divided by twelve to give the monthly deduction your employer should withhold under section 149, alongside monthly and annual take-home pay.
Can I include allowances and tax credits?
Open the additional adjustments panel to enter medical allowance, employer provident fund contribution, zakat deducted at source, approved pension fund contributions and charitable donations. Each is capped at the statutory limit before it reduces income or tax.
Is the result the same as the FBR calculation?
It should match for a straightforward salary, but it is an estimate. Employer payroll treatment, exempt perquisites, prior-year adjustments, refunds and non-salary income can all change the final position on your return.
