About the Sales Tax Calculator Pakistan

Add sales tax to a net price or extract it from a tax-inclusive total. Enter the invoice amount, choose whether it already includes tax, and set the rate — the 18% standard federal rate is the starting point, with presets for the provincial service authorities and for zero-rated and exempt supplies. The result shows the net taxable value, the sales tax and the gross invoice amount, which is the split you need for an invoice and for the monthly return.

Common questions

How do I calculate 18% sales tax in Pakistan?

On a tax-exclusive price, multiply the net amount by 0.18 and add it to get the gross. To extract tax from a tax-inclusive total, divide the gross by 1.18 to get the net value, and the difference is the sales tax.

What is the current sales tax rate in Pakistan?

The standard federal rate on goods is 18%. Services are taxed provincially — Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad each set their own rates, commonly between 15% and 16%, with reduced rates for specified services.

What is the difference between zero-rated and exempt?

A zero-rated supply is taxable at 0% and input tax remains claimable. An exempt supply is outside the charge and input tax attributable to it cannot be reclaimed. The distinction changes your net position even though both show no tax on the invoice.

Which rate applies to my supply?

Classify the supply first. Whether it is a good or a service, which province has the taxing right, and whether a reduced or concessionary rate applies all come before the arithmetic. The rate field is editable for exactly this reason.
